Plum Crazy

Located in the beautiful, coastal Outer Banks of North Carolina, Plum Crazy sprang to life with the launch of the Kitty Hawk store in November 2003 and the spring of 2006 saw the opening of Plum Crazy’s second location in Duck, NC. Upon entering Plum Crazy a world of wonder and amazement appears before you – from furniture reminiscent of Alice-in-Wonderland, to clothing, to jewelry and hand-bags made from recycled skateboards – there is something for everyone.

The boutique is bubbling over with unique and unusual, many times one-of-a-kind treasures!!! Filling up the vivid, colorful boutique are artisan made items from both local and national artists. This unique inventory is Plum Crazy’s signature and lends credence to the store’s name. A large focus is also placed on recycled items, environmentally friendly gifts or things that have a second life as something else. For example, eco-friendly handbags made of old street signs, or records, jewelry made of old silverware, bracelets made of antique typewriter keys and vintage buttons – you get the idea! Also sold is the gallery quality functional art furniture by Luon St. Pierre.

Close to heart of the Plum Crazy Girls are the many charities they support annually by planning and executing charity events in conjunction with Plum Crazy Boutique. The girls never pass up a opportunity to join forces with the community weather it’s to raise money and awareness or supporting local artist by show-casing them in the shop as well as supporting the local art scene whenever possible.

The Plum Crazy staff – also fondly known as the Plum Crazy Girls – embody the philosophy of the store and therefore thrive in the fun, fanciful, world of the boutique. When not giggling the sparkling staff truly try to make your shopping experience one-of-a-kind, like the gifts offered. The staff hopes to meet your every need with each sale --no matter how large or small. Every item leaving the store is packaged as a great treat inviting you to open the bag and squeal with delight at the surprise inside!

September 2007 brings the launch of Plum Crazy’s shopping website - fabulousness is now only a point and click away! With our seasonal shoppers in mind the Plum Crazy website was created and now allows our loyal out-of-towners a year round pass to fun and fashion.
